The past three years have been filled with extreme joy, pain, confusion, and everything in between. As I began to grow as a believer, the presence of these feelings became more evident. I was searching for an outlet. I was in desperate need of a way to process what the Lord was teaching me.
Like I said, I had never been a huge writer. To me, religiously printing "Dear Diary," neatly in a kitten notebook seemed like a waste of time and slightly ridiculous. However, the Lord revealed to me that writing could be a way of worship, prayer, and communication with him. So, I began to write. And write. And write some more.
A little about myself:
- Born and raised in Broken Arrow, OK
- Graduated from Metro Christian Academy in Tulsa, OK
- Currently a Senior Mathematics major at Texas A&M University (A-WHOOOP!) pursuing a career as a High School Math teacher.
- Love music...I play the flute, guitar & piano, and I love singing!
- Find worship through art very powerful....even if I'm not that great of an artist
- Addicted to all things coffee
- Most importantly: I'm a daughter of the KING!
And of course the story behind the title of the blog, "J is for J-Dawg":
I tend to like planning spontanteous hangouts for homegroup. To plan spontaneous hangouts, you need everyone's numbers. At this point in the semester, we had just gotten a couple new people. I had gotten their numbers, but they didn't have mine yet. I sent out a mass text of the details for the hangout to everyone. One of the new guys text back asking who it was that had sent the message. My reply? J-Dawg Millz. Little did I know this text went to EVERYONE included in the original mass text. I'll admit, I enjoy pretending to be thug every now and then. So, I guess the name stuck and the rest is history.
